With both Queensland and Victoria launching massive government packages to support renewables this week, Australia’s embrace of solar is hitting new heights. This exciting phase in the country’s energy transition comes after many of the best land parcels for solar development have been snapped up though, meaning utility-scale solar projects are increasingly turning to technology solutions to do more for less.
In this pv magazine Webinar, we will discuss a suite of innovative tracker solutions, introduced by our partner Trina Solar, which answer this need to make utility solar projects more adaptable, quicker to install, and ultimately more profitable.
Among them is Trina Solar’s new Vanguard 1P tracker, which offers energy yield improvements of up to 15% and is specifically designed to perform in a variety of complex scenarios and high winds. Sitting alongside this is Trina’s SuperTrack algorithm which optimizes energy production in challenging weather and shading conditions, delivering further yield gains of up to 8%.
With a particular focus on ease of installation – vital in Australia with its high labor costs – the webinar will examine a range of mounting systems and how to best suit them to large-scale projects in the Asia-Pacific.
We will welcome presenters Andrew Gilhooly, Head of C&I and utility solutions – Asia Pacific, and Sun Kai, Head of Smart Tracker Control System, who will explain the design philosophy behind Trina’s new range. They will be joined by Rob Saunders, the Australian Managing director for developer Elecseed, which is currently working on a 200 MW solar farm in Queensland’s Western Downs that is aiming to deliver green hydrogen to Korea starting from 2030.
